I picked up a new to me Mohawk longbow 64" 60#@28" and I can't get the grin off my face. This is my first longbow and since I have never shot one before, I decided to an archery shop to test out a few instead of buying one sight unseen.
I am not sure if I am stepping on anyones toes and I don't want to upset any sponsors but I have to tell you about my experience, if I am let me know and I will edit my post.
I went to Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear in Arvada, Colorado and Tom, Terry and the gang took excellent care of me. Not only did they show me bows in my budget, but they spent hours with me shooting different bows, even trying to get the arrows that I use for my recurve to work. I can't say enough about how thankful I am for all of their help. After spending about three hours with these truely knowledgeble and fun guys, this is what I walked out with.

They are good people at the shop. I was there last year and bought (ordered) a Mohawk bow also. I have referred several people there who have also bought bows. I wish they wer closer, I could send them lots of business.I love my Mohawk and I am sure you will too.

Looks like a keeper! Congrats on the great experience with your new Longbow!
Nice looking bow...
I would get rid of the manlaw though...it is a no no here.
Thanks Chris, I just went in to change it, and it looks like the Admin beat me to it.
First of all let me say you do not know how fortunate you are to have a Trad Shop the quality of Rocky Mountain within driving distance.I spoke to Tom a few times and e-mailed him a number of times. His new bows are made by bowyers that live in Colorado. Bowyers that know how to hunt and how to build hunting bows. They are without a doubt some of the best known and unknown bowyers out there. A while back I had an interest in the used Blacktail Columbian Longbow he had in stock. When he told me" it doesn't shoot as nice as your Mohawks" I believed him.For a Shop owner to back up Vince from Mohawk as a bowyer like that, you know he has to be good. I have been telling people about these bows for months. Dollar for dollar you will not find a better shooting bow, that's made as well, for the money. Welcome to the Mohawk Tribe! Yours is a beauty enjoy!
Those Mohawks are sweet.
Congrats on your Mohawk! I just got my new one from Vince last Mon. They are Sweet!!
