Our beloved Killdeer has been a mentor to me of sorts into the world of traditional gear. I've bowhunted for 20 years, but am certainly a newbie when it comes to hunting with a recurve. She has provided much information, guidance and encouragement. Just wanted to publicly say thanks, Kathy! There have been others equally generous with their advice. What a great site. My goal is to practice, practice and make my first traditional kill this next season. Here are some arrows Killie recently made up for me...fly like darts. (she is equally talented with her photography skills) :notworthy:

WELL DONE, KILLIE. A GRACIOUS GESTURE, RED BOAR.
-
Yep, definately one of my favorite "Trad" people!
Merry Christmas Kathy!
-
She has helped me along my journey as well. She is a special person. I am sure our paths will cross again at the Baltimore shoot.
-
She is a very nice person and a generous one at that.
-
Speech...speech!
Naw, just kidding :bigsmyl: That's why I love this site.
-
What a Christmas present...Thanks!
Y'all had me bawling like a baby.

Be careful, Killie. Bawling in those conditions can cause ice cycles to form on the eye lids and and a problem in seeing where you are going. :biglaugh:
Merry Christmas too you!!

Doesn't surprise me a bit- Merry Christmas Killie from the other side of the mountains.
-
Well she's OK, but I'm still waiting for a compillation of her works to read on a day when the weather says "Stay indoors by the fire!"
-
Way to go, Killie! And from one self-confirmed, unapologetic bawler to another, let it flow, Gal! Good emotions and good energy are what it's all about!
Merry Christmas and Wonderous Tidings...
Claudia

Killy knows that she can pull up a chair, stump, or anything she want's to sit on at my camp fire anytime she wants. When I first met Killy, my first thoughts were, man you do not want to $#@* this lady off.....and I was RIGHT.....lol. A true and very traditional lady is she and a pleasure to be around. YOU GO GIRL
-
Killie, is one of a kind. Hope to meet her someday. Her writings are, how to say it, Inspiring!
Kathy thanks for lighting up my part of the Traditional World!

another day in the life of Killdeer..someone helped, someone entertained, and none wanting any less than the huge gift she is to our lives!
Good on ya Killie!
-
I sit hear before the keys, with out a clue. Killie is beyond compare, :notworthy:
Thanks for your sharp wit, and most of all your perspective on life. Many of us would do well with your view. :campfire: Least you are here to steer us clear.
-
nice as can be. The kind that even rubs off on other people.
-
I've always been impressed with Killie myself and just gotta say Killie you sure can write purdy!
-
Killie really is an example of the essence of Trad Gang, both with her generosity and enchanting writing. Someday I hope we will meet, but until then, I sure enjoy sharing a fire here with her :campfire:
-
She is quite the person, and it wouldn't be the same on this site without her wisdom and often times humorous comments -- ya just gotta love it!
-
Trad Gang would def be a different place without Killie! Thanks for being a part of it all. :archer:
-
Kathy's a great person and I'm proud to call her Friend!
-
Yep. I agree Lee. Kathy is good people and definately a good friend. :campfire: :archer:
-
GEeze guys... ya make me feel weird inside...like I'm reading a eulogy or somethin! :scared:
I dont think I could take a visit to B'more without a Killie Fix! Emails don't compare when ya tease that gal and get the "hairy eyeball"
I know I'm in big trouble when I throw one out there, get the eyeball, and in the background, her hubby, Clark, scooting away in the other direction! :saywhat: Ruh-roh
That gal does have a tender heart and a giving nature about her... watched her take a passle of young folks under wing few years back at B'mo and take them woods walks and shared her boundless knowledge of flaura and fauna to fill their heads with the magic of nature!
You go girl! Obviously, you touch a lot of lives in your wanderings... Thanks for including us!

Kathy is a true original, one of the brightest lights here. Love to read her posts for the sharp humour and the thought stirring comments that often leave me with more than a few questions.
Thanks for the help over the years with my questions Kathy. Also, the poem is great. I see the need for a certain picture to go with it.
-
Great sense of humor and ready to say something nice when everyone else is giving you heck. Always nice to have Killie add to a post. Merry Christmas Killie.

Merry Christmas Ma'am :p
-
I have been on "Trad Gangs" just a short time when i began reading the post from Killdeer and realize she was something special  the pictures and then the stories and the insight that was shared, what seemed mundane to most of us began to take new meaning under the pen of a masterful writer.
Something so simple as her doing her job as a rural route postman became a journey and an adventure! Thanks Killie for sharing with the rest of us and wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
-
Merry Christmas Killie!
4 pages of folks telling how much you matter to all of us just seems fitting on a day like today! Hope they keep posting!
You are a great friend!
