Well....can anyone guess what wood this is and will this naturally decorated Christmas tree make a bow?

Very interesting, a rare tree indeed. Wonder if the coloring is inside the trunk as well or just on the surface. Can't wait to hear what the bowyers have to say.
Dead cedar?I dont know if it will make a bow or not, but that is rather neat.
Looks like walnut to me. And yes, any tree will make a bow, of sorts.
Madrona? That tree looks  .
Rainbow Eucalyptus tree.
it sure is cool looking, that's for sure.
can I have a stave?
that aint no walnut, that I know. :)

So, that's not painted? Interesting..
That is a cool looking tree
Wow...very neat. I too thought it was painted. I live in Florida and have never seen one.
thats awesome. Very intricate. Nature can do amazing things thanks for sharing terry.
Way cool tree Terry. Is it in your neck of the woods? My guess would have been a hand-painted banyan tree, just by looking at the exposed roots.
Now that we know what it is, the question is, will it make a bow? I'm curious to know!
think i read some place that Gum (Eucalyptus) are not very good bow woods.
Amazing colors
Terry where did you take these pictures ?
easy...its a camo diamondwood tree
What kind of camo would you have to wear to blend in with that tree? Tie Dyed maybe. Chad
That pic was taken in Hawaii....yes, it almost doesn't look real....but it is.
I thought it was a dead, barkless tree that some camo fanatic painted. From the shape of the tree and branches, and nearby leaves of another tree, I quessed walnut.
Interesting! Might make some thin veneers and put them under clear glass.
Isn't that one of those new colored dymondwood trees?
Well I be darned! And there I thought it was the work of some very tall psychedelicized retro hippie getting rid of his leftover scraps of many-colored paints! You just can't beat nature in any way, especially including truth and beauty. Now that's a tree I would hug!
