Title: New to me Morrison Shawnee... Name the woods in the riser...
Post by: Bowhunter4life on December 21, 2008, 10:46:00 AM
I've got a Shawnee on the way and the previous owner doesn't know for sure what woods are in the riser.  I think the one wood is Bocote, but the other is a guess for me.

Let me know what you think it is, and I know I can ask Bob, but I thought I would have a little fun...

Lets just call it "perty" wood!

I think you are correct on the Bocote but whatever the other is they look good together!

PM Bob the serial number he'll tell you what it is.

But I,ll take a guess,of Myrtle outside and Bocote inside flare with half pine cone and copperhead skins.

Or I would just agree with Jason.

I don't have the bow in hand just yet, and these are the pics I had to go on from seller.  Don't have the serial # at this time either to ask Bob.  But, I didn't need anything more than what we see here to know I wanted this bow.

"A" riser w/medium grip with 1/2 pinecones and "E" carbon/foam limbs 57# @ 28" or (60# @ my 29" draw) with copperheads.

She knows already Pete... as a matter of fact she bought #2 for full price from Bob for my Christmas present.  So, when I found this one for half price it didn't take much convincing to let me get it.

All I had to do was sell something to pay for it!  ;)

Me too Fred, great to see you again!  How did the last day go for you?  I know it was cold and windy, which should have made you feel like you were back at home...  ;)
