"Is there anyone who uunderstands what Christmas is all about?"
,
"Sure" said Linus...I can tell you what Christmas is all about.
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over thier flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them. And they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them..."Fear not, for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you. Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger."
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest and on Earth, peace, goodwill toward men."
Merry Christmas Charlie Brown...and all of you!
amen to that
Peter, Merry Christmas to you as well....not Xmas....Christmas.

Claudia

That's right George!
Merry Christmas to you too Pete, and to everyone else as well!
Hey, can anybody explain to me why the only two words in the english language that are abreviated with an "X" are Christmas and crossing?
Why is it that we only X out the words
Christ and
Cross ?
Ron
Merry Christmas from Rome Peter from St. Peter Cathedral and to all the brothers with a bow in their hands
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. People are generally in good cheer, kids are excited and we spend a little extra time being thankful for God's greatest gift to us. God has given us many gifts: the woods, the meadows, the mountains, sticks and strings . . . but none can compare to the gift of His Son. Born to die so we may live. Thank you God, for all Your good and perfect gifts. From me and my family.
I thought the X in Xmas was for the Greek word meaning Messiah, which starts with an X. Could be wrong, but either way... Merry Christmas all!
everytime I see x-mas I get sick inside.
thanks for the post.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Yes he is the reason for the season. Merry Chtistmas to all and have a safe and prosperous New Year! Ken
Merry CHRISTmas to all! Thanks for the post!
Keep our Military in your prayers!
He is Holy and Gracious. Thank you Lord. Thank you for loving us so much you sent your only Son, Christ Jesus, to take on our sins providing reconciliation and a renewing of a relationship with you Lord. The ultimate sacrifice, the giving of the ultimate gift!
Merry Christmas to all!
Amen--Merry Christmas to all--1Longbow
X is the first Greek letter in the name "Christ."
KSdan....it may well be but I'm not Greek and would rather see the name 8^).
Oops...Sorry guys...You are right "Christmas" is much better.
pdk25...I beg to differ...

Merry CHRISTmas to everyone!
(I'm getting some new arrows for my recurve this CHRISTmas... there you go, pdk25... now it's archery-related  )
Peter,
Merry Christmas to you my friend, and thank you for taking the time to recognize the true meaning of Christmas.
Patrick,
Merry Christmas to you also.It all started a long time ago, check this out: 2 KINGS 9:24
Then Jehu drew his bow and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow went through his heart, and he slumped down in his chariot.
It's all tied together buddy.Merry Christmas to all you guys!!!
Good Shooting,
Craig
Xellent post Peter!
Merry Christmas all!
It's the time of year I can thank my God for his many blessings.
Retirement, and a new bow to celebrate it.
Most of all, giving my back my wife after I almost lost her with a heart attack.
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
Thanks for that Peter and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Ron,
Christ are cross are synonomous. Christ was born to die. And He did on the cross at Calvary. The world, the secular world, would like to do away with all references to Christ and to the cross. So if they replace Christ and cross with an X, they think they have eliminated Christ and the cross. Nothing could be further from the truth. Christ and the cross are eternal! And because of the price He paid at Calvary and He rose again the third day, we have available to us salvation rich and free and life eternally!
Bill

PDK,
When I kill a deer with a new bow, I call the bowyer and thank him... When a man lets me hunt his private property, I thank him... When the Lord smiles on me and allows me to take the life of one of his creatures, I thank him too. It is all related.
A very safe and merry Christmas to everyone!
Ron
Thank you to the administration, you allow us a few times yearly. Such as holidays to stray a touch off topic so to speak. And allow us to wish one another well beings.
It allows me and the others to wish one another Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As we are in many ways better than best friends. And have so many loved ones here on this site.
My best wishes to my brothers and sisters. Live long and prosper.
Merry Christmas
PS Thanks Pete
Bill, said" christ was born to die" i say " every person on this earth was born to die, after the first breath you are on your way to death, just hope i go with a recurve or long bow when it is time. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all

shaft slinger,
Actually all of mankind are born dead, in spirit, while Christ was born alive in the Spirit and was also born to die for the sins of all of humanity. Sadly many of humanity reject the price He paid and stay dead in their trespasses and sins. It's their choice, albeit a very poor one at that.

Hope everyone as a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I think we need to forward Linus's explination to all of the retailers in the world that are pushing the material version of Christmas down societies throat! Merry Christmas to all :campfire: Joseph
Amen Tradgangers! Merry Chrismas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all. (nut)
Merry Christmas Pete, Thanks for sharing, Big Ed
Wish everyone would remember to keep Christ in Christmas. He is the reason for the season. God Bless you all and have a Merry Christmas.
As our culture continues to coarsen under the influence of the secular progressive war on Christianity, this Oasis called "TradGang" is like a drink of clear and clean spring water.
This thread is a lift to my spirit. It's wonderful to know that Christ's birth is still the reason for the season for a lot of people.
Merry Christmas to all,
bc
Amen, bc!
Peter, thank you for the reminder.
Merry Christmas to all!
The longer I live (60 now) the more thankful I am for God's unspeakable gift to man. Merry Christmas indeed! And may He return soon.
Jim Davis
Amen all! Yes, you guys/gals are the reason I enjoy visiting this site!
Merry Christmas.
Peter
Great post Peter .... Was just watching Charlie Browns Christmas with the kids the other night.
Just another Christmas tradition that keeps on keeping on !
Fortunately for me, I've made it through a big health scare to share another Christmas..... and I must say that the traditions...no matter how small are what really matters to the kids and family.
Working on the sled run, making cookies with Gramie, playing in the snow with friends ...... that's what it's all about and we can all thank the most high guy for that !
Amen. ;)
Great Christmas post bother!
Merry Christmas to you, Tanner, and all of the Iacavazzi family....
