I'm looking for a couple dozen matched weight and spine cedar arrows, who are some of the best arrow makers out there?
Ted Fry (Raptor Archery), and Bob Burton (Whispering Wind Arrows)
badger arrow does really nice work as well.
TED @ RAPTOR
Bob Burton (Whispering Wind Arrows)
he knows is arrows making. and a great guy as well you cant go wrong with him.
Elite Arrows. Great arrows at a great price.
I don't think Bob does cedar, but he makes a very fine arrow. I've used cedar from Paul at Elite and his arrows are top notch, for sure.
Steve
Ted Fry at Raptor Suzane StCharles at Northwesy Archery.Bob not sure on the cedar Burton at Whispering Wind. Are all great people to deal with and great products..bowdoc
Check out "Arrow Art"
also.
Looks like Larrys getting ready for - wabbits.
I know Badger does great work.
Jim Curlee in Pine Island, MN
WHISPERING WIND ARROWS by Bob Burton
Looks like he's getting ready for something but I don't think it's rabbits LOL
I'm also interested in a set or 2 of nice nice matched woodies possibly to shoot the indoor league this yr with.I shoot targets for score in the off season 10 weeks starts in Jan
Then there's also some other things coming close that wood arrows may be required isn't that right Larry :D
I just recieved 4doz ash shafts for myself from Bager arrow those are for bunnies :bigsmyl:
ok fella's, don't ever try to put anything past swampbuck, lol. yep Tom, just picked up a new to me, lightweight d/c centaur. I'm thinking it will make a perfect 3-d bow, and the worlds are still in new york this year...and the longbow division requires wood arrows. right now it's shooting some epic 600's real well, I know they are a .600 deflection at 28", but I'm thinking wood is measured at 26"? is that right?
thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll check them all out.
Larry:
You are correct carbons are measured at 28" with a 1.94# weight and woods 26" with a 2# weight. But who ever makes your arrows talk with him he will be able to guide you in spine selection.
Bob
Before ya go and get arrows set up for the bow as is you may need to check the ruleing on center shot and the LB div. yes wood arrows but for some reason I don't think the bow can be cut to or past center.
I,m not sure if I'm gonna try to shoot that or not but I did see it's at holiday valley again this yr
yep Tom, longbow division needs to be 1/8" outside of center. the centaurs are cut to center and this one has a piece of heavy duty velcro for a side plate, just over 1/8" thick by my tired old eyes lol
Bob, pm on the way
larry
+1 for Elite. Go to Paul's website, and look at the championships won with his Arrows. I make my own, but after 40 years of it, I still can't beat Paul's
Paul Jalon when I order finished arrows. www.elitearrows.com (http://www.elitearrows.com) Jim Curlee for shafts.
Bill
another vote for "Arrow Art."
Hands down Milt Beens at Wildcat Canyon Archery in Durango Colo..
Another vote for Bob Burton,he makes the best arrows around. He is also a nice guy.
If anyone is in need of RAW cedar shafting I have them in limited quantities for $25/dz. plus $6 priority mail. (You may also purchase them by the half dz.) I have them in most spine weights and diameters, though the 5/16, 30-45# I have the most of. They are hand-spined within 5# and grain-weighed within plus or minus 10 grain. I have been matching shafts for eighteen years and am meticulous about it.
(Also have some arrowbuilding supplies...feathers, nocks, field points, stains and sealers, etc.)
If anyone is interested please e-mail me. I will need to know your spine weight to check for availability.
Autobows
I'll second Zilla, Milt Beens does make a great looking and shooting arrow.
Who's keeping score here???? Most votes? :goldtooth:
another vote for paul jalon & elite arrows. i've said before, someone out there might be as good as paul, but NO ONE is better.
Of the arro makers I've owned Arro art,Elite,J&M,and Whispering winds.Arro art was the only one that all 12 arros spine the same.Elite was +/- 1lbs.The others varied up to 7lbs.
Robin Hood! His fly so straight they hit each other!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
