I am bummed that my first deer hunting season is over. I had a great year even though I didn't fill the freezer. I saw a lot of turkey on my 80 acre lot and can't wait to go after them in the spring. I am looking to buy some decoys and was wanting to get some recommendations.Maybe you could PM if you have any for sale. Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Montana Decoys work great, are light, and pop open. Flambeau makes a great decoy too. I would if you can afford it buy the flock and set them up.
I like Montana also, but I heard they are coming out with a 3D decoy soon. I am hoping before next spring. Check out their website.
Check out Dave Smith decoys.
When bow huntin spring Thunder Chickens, I like to challenge a mature bird with either gobbler decoy such as B-mobile from Primos or Pretty boy from Carry Lite or the new Flambeau full strut you can use you're own fan on them and I like to put a Jake fan on, nothing will P O a tom more than a cocky youngster struttin with his girls, keeep it close and facing the blind and get ready to shoot before he trys to put a world of hurt on the decoy.
Brian, I use a mounted hen for a decoy, kind of a pain but it works the best of any decoy that I have tried yet. i would say any good decoy that you dress up a little with some real feathers will work for you, decoys are a double edge sword, sometimes they are the greatest thing since sliced bread and other times the birds run away from them. I'm thinking the amount of pressure has a little to do with that. I have hunted turkey with my recurve for the past two seasons and it has been the greatest learning experience that I have had to date. Not an easy task shooting a bird in western NY with a bow, but maybe a little easier out east, you guy's have a lot more birds that us. It is a lot of fun and a lot warmer that late season deer :bigsmyl:
I used the turkey skinz on top of my hen decoy and it really made it look better. Easy to attach and carry with the decoy.
Strutting decoys work great in the early part of the season. Be ready 'cause the boss gobbler will come in fast. Later in the season a single hen or no decoy at all, make em look for ya.
