I'm wanting to mount a set of antlers on a board, and would like to buy one that is shaped like a Flint arrowhead.
3Rivers used to carry one, but no longer offers it.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice, Paul
I did a search and found the wooden panel here.. there were others that were kits, but I think maybe this is what you had in mind... web page (http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/product/40000001/veneer-walnut-arrowhead-design-panel1)
I need to do a couple mounts myself but those are spring duties...
mckenzie taxidermy supply has panels you could look at they have one they call an arrow head but its not exactly what i would call an arrow head

Thanks Slasher and BM12,
I saw the one on Van Dykes, and its close, but not quite what I'm looking for.
The one on McKenzies site isn't it either. Like you said, I wouldn't call it an arrowhead.
Thanks for your efforts though, and trying to help.
Any other ideas?
Try walnutcreekhardwood.com
Under taxidermy panels, maybe style 112 or 114?
i also know a guy that does some lazer engraving plaques for a taxidermist i use to work for ill try to get some pics for you if your interested. lazer engraves deer tracks and bucks on the plaque they are pretty sharp
Wow, DSL, thats exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the offer BM12, but I believe I've found what I'm looking for.
Thanks, Paul
I've placed quite a few orders from them over the years, and have been impressed with their quick service. I usually phone my order in to make sure they have what I want in stock.
Look under Supplies/Hangers/then Hanger Groove. I think it's worth the $1.90 to have the groove routered in, rather than using the metal type hanger. It then lays flat on the wall.
I also order the small deer mannikens, too. Not the cheapest way to go, but it makes mounting them real easy.
They also do custom laser engraving. I've not had that done, but a buddy has them put the year on them, and he's been happy, too.
This sound like an advert for them, but It's not. I discovered them at a hunting show in Michigan 10 or so years ago.
Hey DSL
I appreciate the advice. I've had several critters shoulder-mounted through the years, but I haven't mounted any antlers in eons, so I appreciate the advice.
What do you mean by small deer mannikens?
I saw the mannikens on their site, so I understand.
Any other advice you can offer?
Here ya go.
