what is a better hunt? a harder hunt? a hunters hunt. is it whitetail or blacktail - is it rosies or rockys :biglaugh:
Never hunted blacktail, so I really don't know. Someone will come along that has hunted both and give us the low down.
Living in Oregon as you do, you already know the primary difference between hunting roosies and yellowstone elk is the land each live in. Living on the west side of the Cascades, roosy habitat tends to be dense forests. And that's the reason most hunters in the state where I live tend to hunt yellowstone elk found on the eastside of the Cascades, which is much more open country.
Blacktails are a different story entirely. I am convinced that blacktails are actually related to some type of spirit entity. Those who successfully hunt them should be called Ghostbusters, not hunters.
I dont know about Blacktails but sometimes i think that the Whitetail is part coyote part fox. ..did you know that the Lokota indian thought that the Coyote would be the last animal on earth..due to it's adaptablility and willingness to learn from it's mistakes....Hence the referrence.

Oh to answer that I'll have to do a lot more research. :)

to those who don't know -it's -yes blacktails and rosies, the forests of the west are more dense where roosevelt live and blacktail - the ghosts of the wood will laugh at you with your bow tangled in ferns and stickers taller then your head. :banghead:
