Does anyone have pics of a jig for splining a hardwood insert on a nock? thanks, Dan.
Check out the Three Rivers catalog or website.
Are we talking about the same thing? i haven't seen a spline jig in 3 rivers. Unless i have my terminology wrong, a spline is the hardwood insert used on a self nock to reinforce it. On the other hand the spine is the so called "stiffness" of an arrow. is that right? thanks, Dan.
Dan if your are talking about the spline jig for inserting the hardwood into a self nock.Which is what I believe you are asking for.yes I do know who sells them and he is a sponsor here on TG and will most likely show you the pics you want to see.Ted Fry at Raptor archery. He used to sell a real easy to use model you could cut nock and spline insert. You can find Ted at the top of the page in the sponsors section.Tell him bowdoc sent you.Ted will fix ya right up...bd
I do a freehand cut with a band saw, widen and smooth with sand paper, glue the spine in, cut the nock in and shape it. Pat
Niffty Nocker from Raptor, great jig. Works great with a abrasive hack saw blade. I'll be needing to get a new one soon. I trashed mine on a bandsaw.
I once went into a vendor booth at Denton Hill, and there were some of those on the table. I asked the lady attending the space, "hey, those are Nifty Nockers aren't they?" She said, "well I think so." So I guess that's what was in the package.
George, were you talking about her or the nock making jig? d;^) Pat
