How do they taste? I talked to a Canadian trapper once who claimed to eat every coyote he caught. That's admirable, and making use of both the pelt and the meat, no critic could argue that you were killing just to kill. Some native Americans loved dog meat, and as the mountain men supposedly said, "Meat's meat." Give it a try and let us know!

Hey Dave, I'm thinking up by my property they taste a lot like turkey, because they eat so many of them! Heck, I'd bet some even taste like young tender venison if you shoot them in early summer!

I double dog dare you to eat one of those yotes boys.  I doubt you would die if you cook it hot enough.  You are what you eat and is their a more succesfull predator than the yote they can live almost any where.  I wonder what wine goes good with coyote.

All of them that I have skinned smelled so bad that I didn't have an appetite for a long time.  Don't think I've ever been hungry enough to try eating one yet.

I fed them to survival students-after a week w/o food-they seemed to go down well.  wine? a fine red Merlot might fit the bill

A good friend of mine took one at 10 yards from a ground blind the other day. With all the snow we're getting here today, it should be prime time for coyote hunting.

5Deer, are you calling them? I went out with a friend who calls and kills a lot of coyotes in eastern Oregon. We had a hard time calling or even seeing any a couple of weeks ago. With the warm weather they must be fat and happy. Now that this cold weather has come in it should improve.

The farmer who lets me hunt his place has had a bad year with the coyotes killing his calves. I hope to thin some out for him later this winter as he can't afford the losses. The good pelts I hope to save and tan or get tanned. Don't plan on eatin' any of them tho...

The coyotes were really out today in MO.  I saw a total of seven in 2 hours.  3 Were seen from the road going to call spots though.  Called in 3 with the plain old cotton tail distress.  There are still atleast 7 there now.  he,he,he.
