Post by: rod sarver on December 13, 2008, 03:45:00 PM
Hello fellers, I've been useing SGH by montec but it seems me and the dogs have been runnin alot of them down. I was wondering what other guys use?. I didn't know how blunts worked if they had more knock down power. Thanks - Rod

My wood arrows have Ace Hex blunts or Judos on them. But I also like the new Muzzy small game heads and have them on a few of my carbon arrows. Those Montec SGH are awesome, but they're rather expensive.

I love the S.G.H. heads from G5 outdoors! I shot one for a while before the arms broke off, they sent me a 3 pack to replace the one that broke! Great customer service if you ask me but a bit pricey! Didn't stick anything with them yet but hope to soon! I also picked up some Ace Hex blunts and the new "hammers" from 3Rivers.

Rabbits are easy to kill so if you are using dogs, do not use anything that can hurt them.  I used to use HTM blunts and they did a commendable job.  Now I'm using a metal washer behind a field point....the will not move after that whacks them.  Don't waste money on expensive heads for small game....it ain't necessary.
