Looks like Yard Work & No Hunting today, maybe a little knife work if the power holds. Tree limbs are popping all around. My truck didn't fare so well though...limb came right into the cab :( Doc

Ouch Doc! We are getting it here too...no damage or power loss yet.
OUCH! I bet you are glad you were not moving the truck at the time.
I think some knife R&D work is a GREAT idea...think Canada, eliptical blades, sheep horn... :biglaugh:
We have 1" of slush under 8" of snow under 1" of ice and now it's snowing again Doc. I feel your pain. I had a hunt set-up for today myself.
Wow Doc sorry to see your truck messed up.Hope things get better soon.bowdoc
Dang Doc. I'd be for talkin to "Homeland Security" Tell em cuz you were unprotected ya want a NEW ONE :goldtooth:
Don't loose the day though...Think "TRADE POINTS"
and under something...............vb
Poor luck man..... Sorry.
I had that happen to my brand new car once when I still lived in RI. What a bummer! Now I only have to worry about 5 lb pinecones dropping out here in San Diego!
Heck, Jeff, I thought that first pick was you getting the last Christmas tree left at the sales lot. Yep, at least you weren't in the truck when it happened, or worse yet, in the tree!
Ouch Jeff!!! But look at the bright side, no one was hurt and GM needs new business. Local insurance guy's probably little busy today.
Dang those ice storms are nasty.
Ow, that hurts. Looks like your insurance premium will be increasing in 2009. Sorry for your pain, Doc. If you need to sell one of your bows to ease the pain of higher insurance, you can "unload" that ol'e Longhorn with my name on it... :bigsmyl:
Best of luck with the repairs.
Doug Key
Glad you are o.k. and sorry about your truck!
that stinks Jeff, sorry bout the truck. i feel your pain. (almost) :(
that picture looks alot like my house. i was wakened all last night to the sounds of breaking trees! it sounded like a bomb going off! i was lucky that there is no damage to my house or vehicles. but other than that it looks like a tornado went through my yard, and stayed there all night!!
Bummer. Those storms are hard on man and beast alike.
I feel your pain Jeff, we are in the same boat right now.......trees are down everywhere, 3/4 of our city is without power, public service is saying it will be days before it is all restored......I'm supposed to be off today to hunt, I came into work just so I could have a cup of coffee.
Funny thing is, it is starting to wind down here, squirrels and birds are all over the place, I think if you could get in the woods this afternoon it would be good.
David
David, Only problem getting in the woods this afternoon is limbs are still coming down plus gotta replace a lot of horse fencing! Important so the hunters that are in the woods aren't trying to tag Real Big Deer :) Doc...just getting power back!
Hoot...the Big free ranging doe

No one got hurt so everything will be fine. Thanks for all the good wishes...Doc
Sorry the nasty weather turned on you Jeff...just make sure you leave it there when you come south in Feb.
Hope things get better soon Jeff. Glad no one was hurt.
Could always be worse, Thank goodness its only material. Big Ed
Hay Doc, sorry about the damage. Was the storm in MA or SC? Expect it is MA but you never know.
Bummer Doc! Thank Goodnesss no one was hurt, including your horse! Chestnut/Palomino? :saywhat:
same boat in shrews doc. my town looks like a tornado went thru it. we've been without power for about 16 hours now. starting to worry about the freezer full of venison. looks like the only damage we got is a rain gutter ripped off one side of the house by a tree limb.
neighbors didn't fair so well. limb through the roof and lots of water damage.
was going to hunt tomorrow afternoon, but now it looks like more clean up. since we had no power, we had no heat. so I took my daughter to my parents.
Sorry about the truck Jeff.
Looks like a good time to add that custom Moonroof?
Glad you all are OK!
Hey Hickstick, take a ride by 6 curley dr see if my old house is still standing...PR
hickstick,
Looks like we need to fire up the BarBQ :)
bentpole,
Naw he's a big boy 1/2 Belgium 1/2 Quarter horse. He needs to be pretty stout to haul me around! I did mend the fences so he is safe & happy.
rabbitman,
I sure don't want any of this in Texas especially camping in Whip's Pyramid Tent
4runner, I now have a good view of the full moon tonight! Doc
jeff....wife is in paris for a week. we should dig out the forge and roast at the same time :)
(course...I'd have to clear the 2 feet of stuff thats gotten piled on top of it over the past 2 years.)

I absolutely hate those kind of storms. Glad everyone is ok.
Dang Doc least you where not headed out on hunt! Glad no one was hurt, like Dave says the auto guys need a brake
I would not worry about a breeze in the Texas tent. If'n a hog can bounce\\ricochet & squeal off the walls and not wake us. No worries

Oologah, OK? Isn't that where Roy D Mercer is fom, Jesse69?
Wow Jeff, I see what you meant by having enough trees left to hang that hammock in! Glad everyone is OK.
Ron
Argh! Sorry to see that! :banghead:
Condolences on the truck -- glad to see the menagerie made it through OK. We got our power back on Monday night after four days. Lots of NH folks probably won't see it before Xmas, so we're pretty grateful for our circumstance.
Doc, sorry to see such damage!
