Title: New Samick Red Stag! Pics
Post by: unregistered on December 11, 2008, 01:11:00 AM
Well I mentioned a little while back that I was interested in purchasing a Samick Red Stag as a back up for my longbow. Due to all the positive feedback about Samick products I went ahead and ordered one and I am not disapointed! In fact I enjoy shooting the Red Stag so much that I plan on putting my longbow aside and concentrating solely on completely mastering this new recurve. And to top it all off it only cost 1/4 the price of my custom longbow. Oh well, here is the pic. If anybody would like to see more pictures of anything specific regarding the Red Stag just let me know and I will try to post them. Enjoy. I shot one of those at Denton Hill and really liked it.  They have a very crisp release and seem quick as well.

Well here are the close ups of the riser that were asked for. As for specs the bow is 60 inches with 50 pounds pull at the usual 28 inches. It is fast flight string compatable. So far all I have done to it is add velcro to the backs of the limbs, attach leather to the shelf, and install limb tip protectors, brush buttons, and no glove finger protectors which have done wonders for my release. In the last photo you will notice a slice of red felt placed under the limbs, this completely eliminates the squeaking of the limbs when the bow is drawn. All in all it is an awesome bow!

Those are real nice bows. I remember looking at the Red Stag prototype in the traditional archery division of a very large archery retailer here in PA earlier this year. They have really been working hard with Samick to bring high quality new designs to the US.

Wait till you see the Vanguard. Carbon/boo limbs, phenolic riser......... but I digress.

Enjoy your bow Justin. You got a good one.

Justin and fellows taking photos...don't use white or shiney light backgrounds.  The light backgrounds shut down the f-stop on cameras because it reads the light of the background, not the bow.  A pastel or light absorbing, duller background will enhance the subject of the photo.

See if this is any better:
