Title: I'm now an Associate Sponsor.
Post by: Liquid Amber on December 10, 2008, 08:54:00 PM
Long time contributor and now an Associate Sponsor.  I recently self-published a limited run of "Toxophilus in Arcadia," a collection of essays taken from Maurice Thompson's manuscript of the same title, a book Maurice was working on prior to his death.

The short and sweet is, I was able to acquire permission [from heirs and Emory University] and such to use the title and other copyrighted material in this revised and edited version.

Information on the book and how to purchase is now posted in the Sponsor's Classifieds.

Well done Mr. Huntington!  I already have a copy, thank you, and would recommend it to everyone.  I might also have to buy another copy or two as gifts.  Thank you for your support here.

I hope all is well with you.  Merry Christmas!

I received my copy of Ciff's book and I really enjoyed reading it.  This is a well put together collection of historic archery accounts written in a beautiful old English prose.  Toxophilus in Arcadia takes the reader back to a time when modern archery in America was new and exciting.  It's a great read!

Congratulations, Cliff!  Looks like this will be a great resource for a L-O-N-G time.  Thanks for carrying through with this effort to preserve "our" history.

Your ol' buddy from the swamp,

Daryl

Cliff,

Had to stop farming and wind down our business because of a health challenge, but life is good, and archery remains the sanity check that keeps things enoyable.

I look forward to reading your book.  Mebbe I can get my wife to spring for a copy for my birthday in early January.  Hope to see you some time, somewhere, along the way!
