Title: Youth recurve suggestions
Post by: Dmaxshawn on December 10, 2008, 04:21:00 PM
Looking for a youth recurve for a seven year old.  He tells me he wants a take down model so he can build heavier limbs when he needs them.  What available kits are out there without breaking the bank?

Thanks
Shawn

Our Club orders ours from Lancaster Archery.  I can't remember the brand name off hand.  Buy one riser and have some limb choices.  If I remember correctly be careful in odering cause the risers tend to only fit certain limbs.  Elk Ridge Archery does not have takedowns that I remeber but they used to offer a trade in system.

Hey Shawn, my son has a recurve made by Great Tree I believe. It is 48 inches long and pulls around 20 lbs. It is left handed but your son can try it out when you come down to hunt. Very affordable.

Jack would be mad If you gave his bow away.  Anyways its left handed.  I think he ready for the 25 to 35 range will have to see.  I dont have scale to see how muck hes pulling now on his curve.  See yall soon be careful in San Antonio and save me some trash tacos.

He can pull it back and if the weight is right you can get him one. We never run out of trash tacos here. I will buy you a couple when you get here. Keep shooting and bring both those bows.
