Title: A Christmas Challenge to all Trad Gangers
Post by: vermonster13 on December 08, 2008, 09:40:00 AM
As we all know this most joyous of times of year can also be one of the most challenging in these economic times. So here is a way to give a little help to our Trad Community.

Most of us have stuff that's sat on the shelf for some years. Its in perfectly good shape and useful, just not to us. My challenge is for everyone to post something to this thread that they can spare and afford to ship to someone. This isn't a White Elephant. What you get is the good feeling of helping out someone to have a brighter holiday.

If you are someone who is having a tough go of it and see something posted that could go under your tree PM the poster. Please consider the spirit of this though,   if you could afford it then leave it for someone who couldn't  . There are plenty of giveaways done in Pow Wow I would like this one to be in the true Traditional Spirit of Christmas.

 So who's in?

PS:If you know someone having challenges but has to much pride to speak up, let me know and I'll ask Santa what he may be able to do for them.

Merry Christmas and God Bless each and every one of us!

If the item you are providing is given away, please edit your post to reflect such.

OK.........good idea. However, I don't have anything big here. But...
For anyone interested---I have 3 never sharpened 125gr. Snuffers ( screw-ins) and a sharpening/honing file set sold by "3-Rivers" that are set on a block to hold proper angle.

i'm sharpening-challenged and could never geta good edge on the 3 I tried. plus, i get better flight from Stingers and they've proven themselves to me  multiple times.  So..............   :campfire:

Holm-made, how I dearly dearly wish I was right handed.  That's amazing.

I don't have much:

If someone can use some .350 spined carbon arrows cut to about 28" I'll strip the blazer vanes off and put some RIGHT WING feathers on.
(all white is all I have right now)

The harness that came with my summit stand.

If someone would like to make a side quiver out of an old kwikee quiver they can have it. (It's stripped so it can't be used on a bow, even with a new "reciever")

Dang, I don't know where I came up with the idea that Santa spent so much time at the North Pole    Also seems that he may need lots more help this year!!

With that in mind, I seem to have too many knives.  I have a roughed out blade similar to this little neck knife that wouldn't be much trouble to add a piece of wood.  Might just be the thing for some young person to pull out of their stocking this Xmas.  Thanks for reminding me Santa...Doc

Inseam is 32 1/2 - 35 1/2 inches.
Waste is 27 to 31 inches.

This set is brand new and military issue. I bought it at the PX at Fort Drum, NY the week I was outprocessing. After moving to Florida, I haven't had the need to wear them so they have been hanging in my closet.
Put a layer of polar fleece or polartec underneath and they are very warm and dry.
I am going to try to post a pic, if it doesn't come through, stay tuned! I'll work at it!
Hopefully someone in a colder environment than where I am can put this to good use!
Merry Christmas!  (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm28/sendero25/100_0633.jpg)

Set has been spoken for,

So far no one seems to need the military cold weather gore-tex parka and pants I listed on page 6.
It is brand new and I promise I never peed in it!
It isn't cheap military surplus junk, the parka and trousers are listed in the 2007 US Cavalry military and police supply catalog at $252.99 for the parka and $147.99 for the pants.
If you are the right size (male or female) and hunt in cold, wet country, let me know.
Santa has visited me already on this thread.
Merry Christmas,
John

I'm blown away at the generosity shown here on this site... very impressive!!!  I see lots of things on here I would love to have, but God has blessed me beyond any measure that I could ever deserve.  No way I could say I am truly in need of these fine gifts you folks have offered.  But I still want to say thanks!

I can't think of anything right now that I have worth sharing (archery related), but am going to look thru the shop and see what I can find.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I want to repost that I have some .350 spined carbons from bass-pro.  Cut to roughly 28".  If someone likes heavy heads from a heavy bow they'll likely do the trick.  I believe I still have the full dozen and will fletch with 5" feathers or leave bare.  (They are used, but I'll take the blazer vanes off.)

I'll add a Buck 119 that I've removed the top guard from.  It looks very much like a newer version of what you see in the link.  Good knive, but I've got plenty and Have other "big" knives to carry.  Would work well for the one-knife hunter.

Okay... I have a few things I'll offer - they aren't much, but hopefully someone can benefit from them that is in need.

[SPOKEN FOR] I have an extra stringer... think it originally came from Black Widow back in 1991, but not sure about that.  It works, that much I know. [/SPOKEN FOR]

[SPOKEN FOR] I have three tabs - one has hair on it - one has been trimmed some... not sure what brand they are or anything about them.  One I know is for split fingers (maybe two of 'em) and the one that is trimmed up is solid. [/SPOKEN FOR]

[SPOKEN FOR] I have a Damascus glove that is used, but still has plenty of shots in it.  It is size Large. [/SPOKEN FOR]

If you're in need of these then shoot me a PM or e-mail.
