How many here have any experience with the new habu bows. I'm talking about the viperkhan. I have one of the older ebony recurve bows. Since that time, I have had many other bows, that I have now sold. The other bow I have found that I really like is a dakota by Rick Welch. I recently said on another post that I would not pay what Chris is asking for a new Habu, but I am reconsidering this. The reason is simple. The Habu is probably my favorite bow, and I am thinking maybe I should get another one just in case for whatever reason, Chris stops making bows. Question. For those of you who have the new viperkahn, do you have the hycurve limbs or the longbow limbs, and which ones do you prefer? Chris is now making a triple carbon longbow limb. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I have the double carbon longbow limbs on my current bow. I've owned 2 with the Hycurve limbs. Longbow limbs are the way to go.
Chris told me I'm the first to get the triple carbon limbs.I've never owned the double but have owned his recurve and 4 hycurves.When I got his hycurve I thought this was my bow 4 life.Twistproof limbs that are very smooth to draw and shot very hard.W/ the slim down riser you lose at least 1/3 of mass weight when compared to his recurve.Then Chris called me to tell me my # was up for a new bow.He talked me into his new carbon limbs and after a couple weeks fooling w/ it, I won't look back.Very fast,dead in the hand,and very quiet.
I have Chris' cocobola TD from the web page that he took the elk with and a Vyperkahn Hycurve. Like both but would trade the Hycurve limbs for the longbows without blinking. They are much quieter from what I haven't heard(the hycurves can be quiet with a little work just not as quiet to my ear as his LB limbs).

I've got the long bow limbs and have been very pleased with them. They are very fast, smooth, and quite. They are the double carbon. Now I hear that he has triple carbon limbs. Chris is always trying to improve.I'll never change unless he can build one that finds the game and shoots it too!!!

I'd get the longbow limbs; in fact I am! Unless I misunderstood him when we last spoke a few weeks ago Chris isn't producing the carbon hycurve limbs yet but you can always call and ask. My dbl carbon longbow limbs were comparable in speed to my Centaur dbl carbon and my A&H ACS CX both of which are new this year. All shoot within 1 - 2 FPS of each other. If Chris gained speed with the new design they'll be faster than the Centaur and ACS CX. With the Habu there is absolutely no handshock, the limbs are stable, the bow is quite and it's so well made it's more forgiving in my hands than any other bow I own. I believe this is due to the fact the tolerences on Chris bows are so tight that the shooter can make a small error in form it's minimized were some other bows can magnify the same error.
I broke my dbl carbon longbow limbs back in April (stupid, idiotic accident :knothead: ) but my name is up on his list (I'd already ordered one before I broke the one I had) and I should have a new triple carbon bow w/two sets of limbs real soon so I'm excited to see how it compares not only to the one I broke but my other bows.
