Hey, only have one "snarrow" for pheasant hunting. Planning on doing some more flu flus with broadheads but was wondering if judo points might hit hard enough. They do wonders on rabbits and such. Wondering if slower speed due to flu flu would take away some blunt force trauma.
Hey Rufus,
I would use the broadheads. pheasants are tough birds. I shot one with a Judo at 10yds from a 70# bow and it never even slowed down. I hit center body mass though, maybe it had enough padding there to thwart the blow. I also shot a rabbit in the head with a Judo at 20yds, he staggered then hauled his fuzzy rear somwhere into the next county at somthing near the speed of sound. I love Judos and stump shoot with them all the time and still hunt small game with them if the opportunity presents itself. But if I know I'm going for pheasants or rabbits I always have broadheads in my quiver. Just my thoughts on the subject.

Thanks, kinda my way of thinking so I'm going with broadheads. Besides where I'm looking for birds I might stumble onto a hog and don't want no judo then for sure. Judo's have always worked well for me on cottontails but jackrabbits are broadhead critters. Thanks for the info. If I be fortunate enough to hit one it will be cool. Be letting everone know I'm sure.
Pheasants are tougher than alot of guys think. If it's an option, go with broadheads. If you're hunting over dogs, a regular old steel blunt or a Hex head.
Can't comment on wing shooting birds, although just recently I hit a squirrel with a flat, steel blunt-tipped flu flu and the damn thing bounced right off him! I need something more destructive and probably won't be using flu flu's any more.
Hey Jeremy, would be nice to shoot over dogs someday then I might not have to re-adjust everything I own before I draw my bow if you know what I mean. It's amazing what that sudden noisy burst of activity can do to whatever you thought you knew about shooting form. Fun though.
