Title: New Friend
Post by: Mechslasher on December 03, 2008, 06:44:00 PM
i'd like ya'll to meet my new friend, a creation by james parker.  it's 51" long, 47" strung, and is 65#@28".  i ran some 440gr goldtips through a graph and got 208fps.  james used european walnut under the glass and i added the copperhead skins to spruce it up a little.  they came out a little darker than i'd wanted but they look good in the light.  i'm planning on boosting the arrow weight up to 500gr. for hunting. enjoy!

Very nice.  What sort of brace height do you have for your new toy?

She's a sweety, Chris. Is this one new or is it your second. Your other has no glass? I love the tips. James is building some incredible bows, ain't he?     Pat

Now that's an interesting bow!!!  "Shrew meets horsebow?"    :saywhat:

How stable are the limbs at the siyahs? (correct term?)  They look really narrow.  Any worries about twisting limbs?  Not criticizing, just curious...

pat, james originally made this bow for eddie.  it was a little much for him so i traded another bow james made for it.  my first one, the one i shot at hickory last year, has glass on the back and bamboo on the belly.

curtis, james designs his bows to be incredibly stable.  there is no twisting at all but the bow does like a high grip.
