I just acquired a new (used) bow, a Toelke Whip, which I love btw. The specs are 42# @ 28", although at my draw I'm pulling 45#. I'm using 2018 shafts that are 31" long and weigh somewhere between 555 and 570 grains total. Unfortunately I do not know the arrows fps of my setup, but I suspect it's somewhere between 152-155fps based on Pete Ward's testing. Do you guys think this setup provides sufficient kinetic energy to humanely kill a deer?
Thanks!

If you are practiced and confident in your ability yes you have what it takes to humanely take a deer.
Yep,that will do it. My bride pulls 45 at a shorter draw and she gets two or three every year.
No problem!! Razor those broadheads up & get to hunting!!!! (grin)

Yes with a well placed shot, and a razor sharp good quality broadhead.

My 45#'er killed 3 deer this year. Arrows were 550 grains. Go get 'em!
hit em in the right place, forget the KE ,
it'l kill em
What tradtusker says. All of it.
I shot two with my 42# longbow this year both with short recoveries
Like tradtusker said, "forget the KE".
Git-er-done !!!!!

I got my first deer with a 49#er and I know I drew about an inch short. Arrow went in to the fletching and the deer went down in about 80 yards. That was a great day!
Happy Hunting and Pick a spot!
That will work.My wife shoots 38#@26"and my daughter shoots 35#@26".Both harvest mid.size hogs with'em.Stay within your afective range and put a sharp broadhead in the sweet spot.
Have fun!
that is a great set up. Sharpen your broadheads and good hunting! Have fun
My 46# howatt hunter drawing 29 1/2 " with 2016's tipped with 135 gr. zwikey eskimoes did the trick on my doe this year.passthrough and short recovery.Razor sharp broadheads and good shot placement is key!
No problem or concern at all with that setup for anything I hunt.

Just took a big Ohio buck with a Treadway longbow, 44# @ 27". Bareshafted 2016's with a 160 gr 2 blade broadhead. He went about 100 yds.
Wash you mind clear of the physics and go hunting my friend. Read some archery history and be amazed that most knew nothing of KE and MO and still were very successful.
George, you beat me to it.lol (nut)
yup no problem as long as ya broadhead is razor sharp and ya put it in the kill zone. :
