Black Mountain
Holm-Made
Maddog
Whisperstik
Rose Oak
Shrew
etc etc and all depending on if you want a longbow or recurve and how long you're willing to wait.

New to you in the classifieds is full of some real top dollar bows for low dollar prices too.

Buy a set of the conversion bushings for the bow and get yourself a set of sweet carbon foam ILF limbs for your riser.

I can't afford to go on a big trip every year so I am paying myself off on milestone birthdays.  You have enough to make a deposit on a lot of good trips.  Actually, you can come close on a lot of DIY type hunts.  Pick one and budget/save for the rest.  Con some of your compadres into going.  The memories will last the rest of your life.  Money well spent.

I didn't do it when I turned 40, but when I turned 50 I gave myself a trip to Alaska.  New bows come and go, but the memories of that trip will always be there.

With your budget how about a trip for hogs with Ray Hammond or maybe to Texas for a nice winter getaway for hogs or Javilina.  Wait until next fall for the trip and do antelope or mule deer out west.

Hunting trips are nice, as Whip says.  Also consider a good pair of binocs.  They are almost as important as a bow.  Happy 40th youngster.

I turned 40 this past year and went to Alaska for 2 weeks. I never dropped a string and it was still the best investment I made all year.

Go with a hunt you won't regret it.

I bought guitar lessons.  I'd already been to AK twice and couldn't afford a sports car.

Yes, take a trip somewhere. That GPS will be gone in a few years, but the memories will last you a lifetime! If you really want to make it special and have a child, take him/her,

Allan
