Title: Howard Hill Arrow ?'s
Post by: tenbrook on November 30, 2008, 11:12:00 AM
I just got a new Howard Hill "Big 5" 70" 45#@28"  I pull 29" and like to use a 30" arrow with a 125 grain field point.  What spine wood shaft would you Howard hill shooters recommend?  Also what brace height and nock height?

Thanks!

50-55# would probably work, but I think 55-60# would work better.  I brace my Hills at 6 3/4.  That's a good starting point, but you may end up 1/4 inch above or below that.  I set my nock at 5/8 inches and nock under, not over like Hill did.  There, too, you may find you need to go up or down a little, but it's a good place to start.  Good luck and have fun.  Hills are fun to shoot.

I agree 55-59 spine would be a good staring point. Flint
