got 2 blackwidow recurves 47# & 55# get 162 fps with 700 gr. arrow @27" out of 55 # anyone with simular spects on a longbow. What longbow ( or hybred) would be most effecent with my draw length an arrow wt. Like my recurves but would like to try longbow or hybred.
I'm a big fan of the Moab for all out LB porformance. It will shoot close to most recurves. Shoots real nice to boot!
SL
i get 155fps 820gr arow 58lb shrew, seems like in the same ratio
Check out A&H ACS bows.
They are sponsors here, have a loyal following, and build one of the fastest bows available.
Go to their web site and you can read, in more detail than you probably care about, a third party report documenting their performance.

I just got a V-Archery "Mystic Hunter" 62" 50# @ 28" it chrono'd at 177. I'm shooting GT 5575 29"
My Hoyt Game Master is 50# and shoots the same arrows @ 190FPS. 13 FPS isnt much different.
Centaur longbows are faster than any recurves I've shot. Very sweet shooters!!
The Morrison Dakota I just bought is as fast as my Black widow recurves. It is the first longbow I've shot that is that fast.
My Centaur double carbon is faster than all of my 20 recurves. We had a shootoff at a local range with several different bows, my Centaur out-shot all of them. The only bow that came close was a Palmer double carbon recurve. Both bows were the same weight and shot by the same person with the same arrow(7gr/lb)Palmer 214, Centaur 219fps
@ flatsbow:
With high arrow weight like 700 grain or above a widow Longbow will be as fast as your Widow recurve!
