Title: Help with Palmer brace height !!!
Post by: Danny J on November 24, 2008, 06:51:00 PM
Hello,
I just received my Palmer recurve from a fellow tradganger. Beautiful bow. It is a 60"  50@28. Could anyone help me with the approximate brace height? Thanks in advance.

I have my palmer at 7 1/2. Seems to be the bast place for it.

Thanks Ferret. That is right where I started it. and seems to shoot very nice there. Havent tried moving it up. Very nice fit on the grip. Shoots very quiet, fast and accurate. Just might have a new favorite recurve. I have noticed how nice and smooth the pull on the limbs feel as you are pulling back to anchor.

I agree with Ferret to start with the 7 1/2" brace hieght then go up to 8" and see what works best.I have three Palmers and each one likes just a little different hieght.  Ben

I like mine palmer alot, but i found my favorite to be my pronghorn.

I have seen people shoot them as high as nine inches. I am not sure they are getting as much out of the bow as they could be but who knows.

Thanks guys. Appreciate your input. I prefer lower brace heights if possible myself. In my opinion the bow seems quieter and shot feels smoother. Almost like the bow appreciates it also. Thanks again for your help.
