Post by: melsdad on November 18, 2008, 06:34:00 AM
What should the brace height be for this bow?

7 1/2" to 8 1/4" you will have to play with it a bit and find the height that works best for you but somewhere in that range.bowodc

Thank you bowdoc, I realize that you can change the brace height by twisting the string. Once you find what works best does the string stay "trained" for lack of a better description? Or will you need to play with it everytime you string your bow?

If you leave the string on the bow unstrung but keep the string on the bow it won't untwist.  If it is a new string leave it strung for a while to get most of the stretch out of it.  You will need to continue to adjust the brace height as the new string stretches.

O.K. guys so I got my string, and a few other things today. The Real bow doc said my brace height should be between 7 1/2 & 8 1/4 inches. I am getting 6 5/8".

My question is how much twist should I put into the string to change the brace height the 1 1/4 inches that I need?

Thanks bretto, so it looks like I don't have to play with a thing.
