Anyone making their own feather rest, I need some Ideas and pics.
I have made a number of them. I trim the feather so the quill is the same width as the feather itself, then mount them to a piece of high tack double backed tape. Trim to shape ( I like a feather burner for this). They've worked quite well.
Trap has some of the finest feather rest to be found, give him a shout. I was lucky enough to score a couple in a trade.

I chop 'em, grind the excess quill off the side, glue 'em to 1-2oz leather with superglue, then kiss 'em to my belt grinder to taper it toward the riser.
It doesn't take very long to make them, but if I didn't have a pile of feather trimmings I'd just buy them from Trap! I don't see how he sells them for what he does!!

Nothing more needs to be said.
Hey Jim, hope You and Joe are doing well. I ordered 2 from Trap should be here any day. I have one on a 1962 Kodiak special and their the bomb.
Trap offers several colors and like Jeremy said His prices are great.

I would like to try these as well. I make all my own feathers from turkeys I have shot.
I need a little more info here. How do I contact Trap? and is the sight to search ( Making feather rests) on the computer web or here in Trad gang?
Thanks,
