I shoot a longbow 50# @ my draw of 27". My arrows are GT 5575 full length 32" with 250gr head weighted with weed eater line they weigh 685gr. They shoot great but they stick past my bow about 6". Is there any "GOOD" reason to start messing with a good shooting setup to get rid of the over hang?

With carbon arrows they don't come in as many different spines as wood or aluminum. So I don't worry about the length of my carbons when I'm done tuning them.Your 55/75 GT's have a static spine of close to .400 at 28",so you have changed the dynamic spine by the length and the heavier point. If it flys fine and the overhang doesn't bother you, shoot them. That just seems to be the nature of shooting carbon arrows with trad bows.If you went down to 35/55 or even CE 150's you will most likely end up with an arrow that doesn't overhang as much.

Just be careful you don't poke the fellow walking in front of you. :saywhat:

I have a 30" draw length and my arrows are cut 32".

Only if it helps with gap or point-on shooting. Some people prefer a long arrow to bring point-on distance closer. It's all up to how much longer distance shooting you do.

I shoot 46,48,49, and 50# bows. I have a 27" draw length and cut my Blackhawk 2000 vaporcarbonwoods @ 28"s and GT 35/55's @27"s. I can shoot 175 to 250 grain field tips and they fly like darts. If you want to shoot a real heavy arrow like you are. Stick with them and don't worry about the overhang if they fly well.If you want a heavy arrow I just started shooting tapered cedars. But that's a whole different ball game.

Whatever works best for you.I say go with it.I was just roughley figureing if you cut your arrows to say about 28" that would reduce the total arrow weight about 65 grains or so ??? that would make your bow shoot just a little faster and things may not work as well for you.Stick with whats working best for you.Just some food for thought.bd
