Yes!! I'm learning to trust my nose more this time of the year! i smelled one this am just seconds before he exploded across a beaver pond,I wasn't expecting a deer to be standing in the pond! :banghead: just another learning experience to add to the memory bank! Thats huntn
Oh yeah!More than once this week.
Its either that or the bigfoot from Catskill. Sorry...I had to.
I have smelled deer numerous times before I saw them.
Sounds like you have a hot spot Ed. Good luck!
I don't think my nose is any more sensitive than most folk's...maybe bigger than some... :saywhat: Anyway, I have to say that I've smelled most deer, including does, that have wandered into bow range, before I've seen them.
Couple nights ago, smelled deer about 30 seconds before first sighting, (about 40 yards away). Nice little doe ambled by, just out of range at the closest point.
Hunt the wind, trust your sniffer! :archer: Or is that "snuffer"?
I've found bowkilled bucks by odor a couple times. Some smell worse than a barnyards this time of year.
Absolutely!!
Definately....especially on damp days
Ya! you should smell a rutting elk....Uuugh!

Sure you can Ed.
But you better whisper in his ear & tell him you love him first . . :bigsmyl:

Wednesday before last I had a wide rack spike stand 5/6 yards directly in front of me in a natural ground blind and even though the rut wasn't in yet this buck was RANKING....Passed him up and about two minutes later I arrowed a little six pointer...Yes you can smell them sometimes...Keefers <")))><
For sure! Did today. Kicked up a 6 or 8 with 2 does. Boy did he stink!
yep uh huh. Take a puff bottle; and you can sneak up on them in the right country. I have done the same with antelope and elk :)
