Title: Arrow rest and striker material in wet weather
Post by: Bob L. on November 04, 2008, 01:42:00 PM
I just moved to Oregon from Las Vegas, NV. Does anyone have suggestions for the best material and or glue that holds up in wet weather for the arrow rest and striker plate material?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I use a satellite archery "bear hair" rests which is like a fine carpet rest.  Some guys use the fuzzy side of velcro which works well.  I may be wrong but unless your hunting in pouring rain (then a wet rest wouldnt be your worst problem LOL), the rest and strike plate shouldnt be a problem.  What can be a problem is wet fletchings and string silencers.  I've never tried it but the guys at my local archery shop said you can spray hairspray on your fletchings and string silencers to waterproof them.  Just lightly pop your string and the water will blow off your silencers.
