Title: Limb savers as string silencer
Post by: Zradix on November 03, 2008, 03:58:00 PM
Hey everyone,

Just tried an experiment. I took some of the small "Traditional Limb Savers" like sold at 3 rivers and glued them to the limbs of my recurve so they just touch the string up by the tips. I put them about where a brush button would go. They REALLY made a difference. Both in vibration and sound. Just thought I'd pass the word. Oh, by the way the adhesive on the limb saver allowed it to move from the stress of the string being on it. I tried some different glues and most didn't work,(Duco, superglu, 3m automotive plactic emblem) What did work and worked well was this stuff called Automotive Goop.   :wavey:

I know Uncle Ted has set up a few like this. Had it on his show once.
