Which hybrid longbow have you found to be the most quiet?
I'm thinking about getting one and "quiet" is the most important quality as far as I'm concerned. :readit:
:help: Thanks!
Steve,I only have one hybrid longbow and cannot really compare to others but the one I have,is quiet enough for me and I wouldn't trade or buy any other ones. The "longhorn" made by Jim Belcher is all I need, fast, quiet and just feels right in my hand,a pleasure to shoot.
Serge
I'll second the quietness of Jim Belcher's "Longhorn" hybrid longbow.
I have a shane hyme hybrid its fast very quiet and no hand shock. If i get a chance ill download some pics later today.
Pronghorn. My Pronghorn is by far the quietest one I've ever shot. If it were not for the string coming off my glove I would not hear the shot at all (It's that quiet). Not only is it the quietest, it's the smoothest bow I've ever shot, shoots where, I look, and the speed is as good as any. I, just can't say enough good things about Pronghorn bows..........
Mike
Ditto what Stringdancer said!
Herb's bows are sweet!
Mine are all good! If I had to pick it would be the Roy Hall Cherokee.I think I could get by without silencers with that one. However shrew sees more action.
Gene
The type of bow I'm interested in is more along the lines of a R/D bow with a recurve type grip, sort of like a RER Vortex.
My A&H ACS CX has been the quietest bow I have owned. Also for me, it has been the best shooting bow I have ever shot!
I have a Firefly by Jim Jones, and it is as quiet as my Assenheimer recurve (and it is QUIET). This is the quietest longbow I've owned.

It also has phenolic and bacote limb tips. And the arrow shelf has phenolic on the side so if it falls on its side it wont mess up the wood.
i can repost the 3 small ones if you would like me to.
I'll have to agree with the ACS-CX...
Great Northern Fireball. Not nearly as extreme as some of the aforementioned bows ,but I love mine. Very quiet, very quick and absolutely no handshock.
My Striker Slapstick sure is quiet!! Shot two whitetails this week at 20 yds. no string jump'n, they never knew what hit em.
KY :archer:
Had a friend go nuts over how quiet my new Fox Royal Crown is. I would have to agree with him that is more quiet than my other hybrids.
I had a Super Shrew that seemed pretty quiet as well, I just didnt shoot it as well as my other bows.
I like heavy arrows (11-12 gr per pound), so that helps absorb vibrations from the bow.
BP
A Roy Hall Apache is a very quiet bow as well
I had a Fox Royal Crown once ..... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
John McCullough "GRIFFIN" Amazingly "QUIET" especially w/one of his strings,, 8 strands FF w/padded loops ...... Good Luck ..........

So far it's been my ACS-CX. My Wife has a Zipper recurve that is one of the quietest recurves out there.
My ACS-CX is quiet...my Cari-bow Peregrine gets a vote also....
Kohannah Fury
My ACS CX's are about as good as it is going to get; I have not had an animal react to any string noise only to the penetration! LOL!

To my ears a Treadway longbow with one of his strings has been the most quiet .
