I use them for small game only.  There are a lot of better heads out there for deer and bigger game.

See how they fly for you. They don't always give the best arrow flight on faster bows.

I no longer use them, but shot quite a few deer with them once upon a time (early 1980s).  I shot the small ones (5/16 shaft) and they were a great head, with 2 caveats.  First, they had to be sharpened with a single bevel because each blade is made from 2 pieces of steel with the joint on the centerline.  Second, they had to be resharpened fairly often because they were made of relatively soft steel.

Heck of a groundhog head, but I wouldn't use them on deer. They are pretty soft.

My family and i used MA3's for years.I have shot a truck load of deer and hogs with them.A close friend of mine still hunts with them.He is posted on my website, with a hog he shot this year.(Mike Myers)I dont think they hold up or hold a edge as well as other broadheads.

I use mine to hunt small game, most recently marmots on the continental divide. worked great since after hitting boulders you could resharpen, and reshape, them. I can also vouch for their softness. Got one that ended up looking more like a cinnamon roll than an arrowhead.

My dad has used them with good success.  He took a bear in Canada with one and didnt have any problems.  He still hunts deer with them now.  Like has been said once you get them sharp and keep them that way they will work fine.

I have shot a lot of turkeys with MA3's but I agree with everyone else.  They are pretty soft - sharpen easy, but don't hold the edge very well.
I have some in my archery box from many years ago.  I ordered some new ones a couple years ago.  They are not made out of the same material now.  The new ones look like spring steel (dark blue)and some of the ferrels split when I put the broadhead adaptors in them.  I would't use them on big game.  :wavey:

i heat to cherry red with torch then dip in oil, sharpen ,kill deer! for added cutting you can sharpen the trailing edge so it cuts going out backwards.
