Title: One blessed hunt.....
Post by: SirRobin77 on October 30, 2008, 03:06:00 PM
I was going to meet a friend this morning because we were planning to go hog chasing. On the way to the meeting place a guy in a pickup rearends me...i mean out of nowhere...im just cruzing along at 40 mph and he hits me in the rearend and then procedes to drive off. To say the least i was stunned! So i call 911 and cops come and do a report. The guy is nowhere to be found .Im fine so no medics are needed. While the cop is filling out the report i try to open my rear hatch and with a little tugging it opens then i close the hatch not thinking about the automatic locks if the keys are in the ignition and they were .So now ive had a wreck and im locked out of my car while its running!! LOL LOL lol lol its comical is it not! lol lol. Well inspite of all of that i decide to hunt anyway so we hop in my buddies truck and take off. We get there and hunt for about 5 hours and we see no hogs. However ive been wanting some cane to make arrows with and it was everywhere so i snatched me some up.
So no ER visit and got me some cane ....id say it was a blessed hunt.
To God be the glory.
Matt

Well considering you would have got some cane anyway but you ended up with a smashed car I'd think the other way.

Gas must be cheaper in alabama. Id have spent the 5 hours on stand crying cause the car was still running, lol.

But yes my friend you have the correct perspective on things. We are to praise our creator in good times and in bad. He is God and his will WILL be done. We might not like it sometimes...but well..He's GOD!!

regards

Oh, I don't believe in god so I'd think the opposite way.

No no i got the car door open and the car turned before i went hunting so it didnt run for 5 hours. Gas is as low as $2.19 a gallon here thats way down from a spike of $3.77 a  month ago!!!
I get pics when arrows are done. It will be a while

You were fortunate, back in 1993, we were hit by a drunk driver we were doing 40 miles an hour, he hit us doing 65 in the backend, he hit us so hard it blew out all the back windows and crinkled the roof of our car, broke the back of my seat off and I ended up in the back seat.  I was pulled right out of my seat belt.

But fortunately we had a off duty undercover cop right behind him, he drove off, the off duty cop follow them to his house, but he got into his house, and had a beer in his hand, before a regular cop could get there, he ended up getting $500 fine and 2 1/2 days in jail.

We had to do a lawsuit against own insurance company, that's what they recommended, because it was a drunk driver, it was not his car, and he drove off from the scene.  We ended up getting $28,500, sounds good right, by the time the lawyers were done we got $5800.00 that's right "lawyers"

And I wasn't even going hog hunting !

good find on the cane

You'll have to show some photos after you get done making them.

Glad to hear you were uninjured!  God is good - even when things go bad.  God reveals Himself in all of creation!  Just slow down and take a look sometime...  :readit:
