These are 2 arrows I asked Pat B for. OK, I asked if he could make me a Primitive Arrow and Pat sent me 2. Sourwood (red feathers) & Cane ( 2 Fletch). Well I had to try them and the Sourwood flow better. It was windy out and that could have done it.
Thanks Pat that are Great.
Pat is another one of the good ones for sure.
Glad you like them Sal. Try flipping the cane arrow over and trying it that way. Sometimes that's all it takes.
The sourwood probably flies best because it has more forward weight. Both are pretty heavy(physical weight)so they will be slower than a comparable cedar arrow.
Thanks for the compliment, David. Pat
I love heavy arrows. I'm shooting Ash & birch right now. Almost 700 grn. I will put a dot on the side of the arrow so I can tell which side is which. Again Thanx Pat they are Great.
Beautiful Arrows!
Pat how do you tie the two fletch on, kinda helical?
sweet. I'm jealous :)
JAG, yes, I put about 180 deg of helical with the 2 fletch. I wrap the back, put in the helical and wrap the front. No glue! Pat
Thats what I thought. Gonna try some myself out of river cane. Just got to get the feathers how they're supposed to be. Great Arrows.
Blessing on the "Giver" and the "Receiver"
Hope the season is good for ya'll.

JAG, I played with the feather design to come up with what worked best for me. I started off with a Cherokee style 2 fletch and kept making changes until I got what I wanted and what flew the best.
I cut the feather to length, install it and burn the shape with my Young feather burner. I have a few arrows with Cherokee 2 fletch that I burned the feathers to a almost banana cut profile that worked pretty good also. Pat
Here is the stave. The green color is from the storage ten. The stave is about 6 foot.
Belly side of stave. (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/mysticguido/000_0121.jpg)
Back Side, as You can tell from the bark.

Shows the running of the grain. I'll get better pic's.

I have to clean up the ends and I'll get pic's of the rings. But First I need to move a stand for My Last Buck Day till Winter Bow (Hopefully). Seen a total of 7 deer in 2 days in the area 100 yards away from my stand.
Sal, that will be a fun stave to play with. Keep us posted.
Above, I said I put 180 deg of helical in the 2 fletch style fletching. I meant to say 90deg. I was sitting in my tree stand in GA on Saturday morning when I realized I had made the mistake. Pat
Great looking arrows :bigsmyl:
