I just got a "new to me" morrison recurve. I think that I am gonna really like it! Super smooth draw and dead in the hand. 52#@28 I pull it to right at 28in. Shot it a few times last night with some 29.5in carbon express HE250's with 200 gn. field points and reg. inserts. They seem to be a little heavy as far a spine. Bare shafts shooting way to the left. got any suggestions on arrows? Should I go up on tip weight? Already over 10gpp. dont wanna slow the arrow down too much.
thanks
Either that or go with a longer arrow. Maybe put a 50 grn. insert
You ain't going to slow that Morrison down. I shoot A.D. Trad lites with 320 up front(125 BH, 125 steel insert, 70 brass insert)620 total out of my Shawnee. Only 2-pounds heavier than you. They scream! Lets see some pics.
Send Shaun Leonard a PM, he's kinda a carbon guru.
Mike
Getting these arrows right is the most difficult thing about trad shooting....
As a ref point my Morrison ILF is 52# @28 and the best tune I got was Axis 400s cut 30.25" with std insert and 140gr tip. Not as heavy of a setup as I would have liked. I have played with a 340, 100gr inserts and 125-140 points. Somewhere close to that is also tuned for me. Hope this helps....
You might have to go to the 150s.
You can't post a thread called "New Morrison" without pichers!!! It's like a man l... err, policy!!!

Got It from a fellow tradganger just yesterday :goldtooth:
Nice looking bow!!! I would try to add a little more point weight if you want to keep shooting the arrow you already have.
