They are very smooth and at #46 @ 29.5's still fast. If I take a deer with my Savannah this weekend I'm going to switch back to my Kota to hopefully take another later this year. I started shooting traditional with my Savannah so I wanted to take at least one with it. It is a great bow also.
The one I have on order is going have a Cocobolo handle with Curly/Spalted Myrtle limbs with Pronghorn tips. Can't wait to see it, about 6-8 more weeks.
Josh
We own 2 Prairie Fire longbows. They are great bows. Tim is a great guy to work with.

I was hoping you'd post a photo of the one with the Myrtle limbs to help me pass the time...

How do they stand in the speed category compared to others?
Please give names of others?
Reason I'm thinking of purchasing one.
Thx.

Don't know how fast they are...but I can hit what I'm looking at that is for sure.
One day I was on the back porch of my friends house and saw a couple of straw bales against the wood line. There was a piece of plastic about 2" sq...said do you mind if I take a shot at that, go ahead he says. I missed it by an inch to the right and it was 28 yards, I had to pace it off to find that out.
I gave up caring about speed when the training wheels came off, I'm happy to hit what I'm looking at.
Josh
Hey Oliverstacy what type of arrow setup do you shoot with your Kota?
Not sure about speed. My husband has had his Kota for maybe 5 years. We go to shows and shoots. He has shot lots of bows and has yet to find one he thinks even comes close to his Kota. That says something!
I placed an order for one yesterday....I have hunted with Tim a couple of times and I'm am impressed with the workmenship and knowledge that Tim puts into his product.....Hope it will hold up to the Texas heat....
Mike...what did you order...my Kill-um is scheduled for a December build. It has been a long wait but will be worth it.

I have shot Beman Classic MFX 500's cut to 30.5 with 145 grains up front. I had to add some shelf material to get it to spine right but it shoots great.
This spring I was shooting 31" 2114 SuperSlams with 150 grains up front...that was the most accurate arrow yet. I'm currently trying to find some more but will fine tune my Beman's this spring for turkeys...if that is what I'm chasing them with. I might be chasing them with my on order Kill-um or a Whisperstik Mojo that is being built also. Going to be a good spring!

Awesome post a picture or a bunch when you get it...I'm going to do the same. What is your expected wait time?
Should be cool to see a three piece that has the same wood as mine.
Is your the TFX recurve or the Prairie Nomad longbow?
Josh
Not sure if it is still there, but G&M archery out of MN had a beautiful 3 piece take-down Kota in stock. Man it is a looker!
Oliverstacy-love the pic with your boy. Those are some great looking limbs as well!
Katie
Yep, it is still there. This is the link:

I will be the TFX......Don't know the delivery yet.....Tim is probably hunting....
Since we are showing off, I thought I would post my husband's Kota. I love his limbs!

I have pics of mine in the Traditional Bows section
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=026898
I caught the longbow bug, so the Kota is for sale. It's just to nice a bow to let gather dust. Someone needs to be hunting with it.
I don't know about speed as I don't own a chrono. It seems plenty fast to me. It's smooth and quiet. That makes more difference in the woods.

There is way too much of that bow not exposed!!
Also..what wood is that? Looks nice.
Josh
Not real sure. I got it for him second hand. The guy thought the limbs are locust. Will get you a pic of the riser. It is real nice as well-it is a Kota! I don't think Tim makes a non-good looking bow.
