Got into my stand at 5:45 A.M, it was 34 degrees here in TN and I almost didn't get up because the past three days were a bust. No deer anywhere! Anyway, a little after 8:oo I heard something behind my stand. I craned my neck around the tree to see a set of horns in a dry creek bed. The buck stood motionless for nearly fifteen minutes testing the air and scanning the area. I should add that I set up two mock scrapes in the area the previous day so I think he may have been looking for the boss. I turned around to my left in anticipation of the buck's move to a scrape fifteen yards from my stand. finally, that's exactly what he did! As he trotted towards the scrape I drew and released the arrow just after he stopped for a moment. My Arrow hit him about six inches behind his right shoulder at mid-body. a kill shot! Took out both lungs but he still went about 125 yards before he piled up at a barbed-wire fence. I love my BW!!
