Post by: Gatekeeper on October 27, 2008, 10:16:00 AM
Do you Kansas City members have a recommendation for a quality local taxidermist? If so please list the company name, contact information and post pictures of their work.

Thanks,
Tom

Hey Tom, the guy I use is Scott Pitts of Sure Shot Taxidermy in Bonner Springs KS. He's a Captain on my Fire Dept. and a good guy. I'll try to post some pics of his work if I can get my wife to show me how. His number is (913)231-4762.

Hey tom, Buck Hollow Taxidermy in Harrisonville is the best around. His name is Steve Gowen. He does all the taxidermy for MDC in the region. He has a very nice display studio, and welcomes people to stop by and take a look at his work. To say that he is a taxidermist is an understatment, he's a true artist. His number is (816)380-2491.

Tom, I'll try and hook up with You the end of the week with the re-bar We talked about. I'll bring a card of a up and coming Taxidermist for You.

Travis is a paraplegic Friend of My sons who graduated from taxidermy school last year and is trying to get his own business started.

Craig Jones in Independence MO does good work.  About $300 and a year wait.  I'm using a friend now that charges about $200 and is much quicker.

My in-laws take theirs to a guy named Morley in Butler.  He does real good work.  Not sure about the price.  I could get the contact info if you want it.

I haven't had a chance to use him yet, but I might if that 10 point comes through on the same trail again. . .

Tom and I were talking about taxidermist after I shot my buck this last weekend.  I went over to a patients house this week to look at a couple of his deer and he had two names.

Mike Kalic out of Smithville and Dan Galetti out of KC, MO.  Both were professional taxidermist. Both looked really sharp and had a lot of attention to detail. Kalic was 400 and Galetti was 475 so I went with the cheeper of the two.
