Title: Black Swan vs ACS CX
Post by: Matabele on October 24, 2008, 11:37:00 AM
Hi all,

Well I visited the Black Swan website but there's not too much info on there and from previous threads here it seems Black Swan have come out with some new models.

Can anyone tell me what black swan offer in terms of a 3-piece longbow and what options are available?

Also how do they compare to the ACS?

Any opinions welcome!

the acs offers more different woods, the swan offers metal handles and wood handles.  both are the same speed despite many claims to the contrary on both sides.  they're essentially the same and individual differences among bows will be greater than differences amongst brands.

I would like to add that I have never shot a Black Swan that was easy to get quiet as an ACS. Shawn

Both are excellent bows and very similar in performance in the Hybrids. What fits you best is up to you, the grips are very different. I haven't had any problems getting Swans quiet, especially the new Ceramic belly ones.

The Swan is offered in a Wood riser and Tinsalloy risers as well. I have not shot the takedown Swan's but did have a 1 piece that I shot extremely well, and should have not sold. I have also shot several ACS's both OL's and A&H's wood and aluminum. To me the grip did not make a difference as far as feel. After a couple of shots I settled into it. Each to his own they are both fine bows, fast and a joy to shoot.I recently talked to Arvid and he is considering to sell only the reverse mount alloy risers as that is just about all he is selling from Olympic shooters to bowhunters and not selling the front mount alloy ones. The 1 piece Hybrid and Longbow are both great shooters as well. He is constantly tweaking and trying new things as are John and Larry at A&H. Buy with confidence from either one. Flint
