Hey Gang....
Dose anyone mark their bows with marks for the Kills made with the bow....
If so....What is used to make the mark with.
-
Hay Mike:
Just cut notches in the limb like the gun fighters of the old west use to do to their six guns !!! big notches for big game and little notches for small game.

I used to mark my deer gun with a drop of red nail polish, kinda like a drop of blood
-
I was thinking of the Red nail polish....
Back or Belly of the Bow.
-
I would put it on the belly so I could look at it while I'm getting ready for my shot.Kinda like a "mojo" thing LOL
-
i draw the rack of the buck i shot and a notch for a doe. I draw them where the limbs come into the riser on the belly side of the bow on the bottom limb out of site out of mind.
-
Use a Plains Indian "Coup" mark. A line about 3/8" long and 1/16" wide. I use black fine point laundry marking pens. Stays on just fine.

Paul...Is that where the term..."Counting Coup" came from?...thanks... :)

So THAT'S why Paul's bows all look like they've got the Ted Nugent treatment??? Zebra stripes all up and down the limbs !!! :goldtooth:
-
I cut pieces of string on my rattle bag to attach my deer tags. I have a knot for each deer I have taken where the cuts were made. I'll be needing more string this next season!
-
a band saw will do a real nice job. just dont cut over a inch deep :<)
-
Too short,
I just thought you were fond of black glass bows...didn't know they started off clear. Myself, I better use the THICK pens to make up the difference :biglaugh:
-
I mark my bows with a scratch each time I drop them ;) .
-
I slice a small sliver of leather on my grip with the broadhead of the arrow I shot with.
-
why not draw a "cave drawing" of the type animal you killed somewhere on the bow. You don't have to count, or you can make "notches" below the drawing.
