I'll be trucking into Breezewood today, as long as construction and safety allow it.
I'll be there until daylight Monday.
Any shoots or ideas about where to shoot, I know seasons are opening everywhere but, I just wanna stump or arget shoot this weekend.
Thanks for any and all repiles...Billy
Go east on Rte. 30 out of Breezewood just a few miles and you'll hit the Buchanan State Forest. Been a few years since I ran it but I'm pretty sure there are some turnouts big enough for a rig, especially if you bobtail. Make sure you have no broadheads in your quiver unless you carry a PA license.
Today, Muzzleloader "DOE" season came in... along with our regular archery deer season already in progress, one SHOULD have orange if you're going to be out and about...
Our MZ season is usually flintlock limited, but this early "anterless" seasons (requiring a special drawn tag)is open to inlines, scopes, etc. so there is a large following.
I'd wait till Sunday, when we dont' have hunting, to venture forth for some hiking and stump shooting!
Stick and String vs. Bang Stick
Sunday sounds good to me...Any 'Gangers in the area??
George Stout lives about 30 miles from Breezewood, maybe he will see this later. He is prolly out hunting today. I sent him an e-mail and told him to check this thread.
Cool,Thanks Roy.
Billy, my phone number is in the directory for Bedford County...give me a call tonight or Sunday morning after 8AM and before 10AM. You're welcome to drive up to my place and we can shoot some stumps...tell lies, etc. My grandson's birthday party is tomorrow afternoon so I'll have to be in by about 3PM. It's about 24 miles to Manns Choice...west on 30 then Rt.31W. I live 1 1/2 miles south of Manns Choice on Rt. 96 going toward Cumberland.
Sounds good ,George. Will call.
That's ok George Ole Boy, don't invite Ole Roy Boy, see if I care:)

Be careful Roy, he's ruff on stumps....
Yup Billy, that's what all the deer tell me:)
I have shot with George, to be honest here. I spend more time looking for his arrows than I do shooten stumps:) However he does post some pretty pictures of his bows:)
Roy....you just need to quit talking about coming down, and just come down. And bring an extra boo-backed osage with you that you don't need back right away 8^).
What too good to stop by Perry county? How are those 2 fletch flying? Good luck and give a ring sometime.
Yeah, and Billy you & Dan missed the Perry County championship "JUG " shoot two weeks ago at my place. Chessieboy & 1/2 pint, his son, and Thaihunter, and a bunch shot and ate like hogs. I think about 8 people must have tied for winner
:bigsmyl: Next time for sure. Bill G.
I forgot to ask Billy, how's the hickory board bow shooting? Bill
Sorry Chessie and Hawk...load was to BIG for Perry County ;)
So, I hung out in Bedford and shot my Perry County "Snakey" bow...Me thinks George liked it too!!
Soon as I get home I'l post pics of Snakey and Brushpopper (the bow I got from George)
and Roy, I think we were about even on search time... :wavey:
