Dean,
I have two of his bows and am more than satisfied with them. Both are 66" one is 47# and the other is 49#. They shoot great. Haven't taken any photos of them as yet. One has Juniper lams and the other is Bocote, nice looking bows!

Dean,
I've got a 66" 51# and it is a very quick and quiet bow. Sorry no pics, but mine is bamboo core, yew lams with a cocobolo riser. It is a severe r/d bow.

His 66" R/D longbow that looks similar to a 21st Century is a great shooting bow. fast and easy to make whisper quiet.

I shoot them as my primary bow & have owned at least 20 of them. They are a nice, affordable bow. I have 9 in the stable right now. Every reaction I have ever seen from somebody who shoots one for the first time is WOW, nice shooting bow. They are not fancy, just classic looking & sweet shooting.

Someone help my bud out..

I have met John twice at the Coon Rapids shoot, and his bows are awesome... I was particulary fond of a 60" recurve he had the year before last.  A true character. I'd like to find a used curve of his...

I have several of John's bows as well.  All are 66".  All WERE really good looking, however I painted them all.  John about sh...  OK you know what I meant.   I like his bows, a lot, and they are very affordable too!  As with any bow, maybe you should try to find one to try out first.

I am waiting on a used one I picked up here on the Gang. The bow I have coming is the 66" model and has the prettiest myrtle veneers. Is the 66" longbow the prefered length in this model? I see it mentioned alot. Chuck, I'm with John on the paint....       :scared:    :)

Shawn.  to me, a bow should be painted camo.  Just me.  In fact the first bow I had him build was to be all black.  Black glass, clack handle, only the bamboo lam's had color.  He asked why and I told him right out.... first thing I am gonna do is paint it.

When I paint it, I spray the whole bow with (grass) green camo paint, then when it is a bit dried I make sweeps across the bow with flat black camo paint, maybe 3-4" wide.  The centers are solid and the edges are fade outs.  Watch where you lay that bow down, cause you WILL lose it in the tall grass.

I have other bows that are pretty.

Well, I got the used bow in today and it flings a heavy arrow out there. I think I am going to be real pleased with it. I have a 27" draw and the bow is 50 @ 27.  My 640 grain arrow was going 155-157 fps. Not too bad.
