Title: Gracious Killy
Post by: Adirondackman on October 15, 2008, 09:40:00 PM
I have never had the opportunity to meet her but I have read most of her inspiring posts. They always seem to make me want to be out in the woods. She sent a box of "goodies" to Ken this year to give out at the Adirondack hunt(Maybe the US Postal Service overpays thier employees!)    Ken gave me a Sash that she sent up in the box. I wore it on my hunt today. I had a 4 point buck at 10 yards not 10 min. into my hunt. He just stood there and hung around for about 10 min. well within bow range. I just felt that the "medicine" was too good and could not take this animal. I took a rain check for the next bigger Buck. Thanks Killy

she is one in a million, even if she is "postal"!
i have a box of goodies that i will be sending her when i go on vaction next week, i need to add a few things myself.  i MADE John take the sash as i know he would have never picked something for himself out of the box and that sash i knew would have meaning to ya. Killys ok i guess.  :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :notworthy:    :archer:

We all gotta do what our inner voice says to do. I wish my inner voice had told me that that sash would call in a deer so close that even I could hit it!!

Glad you got a goodie that you like, and that it brings you good hunting. Makes me smile inside and out to hear it!

Killy,
don't feel bad, i lost my hat band last year while hunting with John, he didn't even know i lost it as i didn't want to bother him with looking for it. i talk to him the next day and he says "you wouldn't believe it, i found a nice hat band, sat down and shot a buck!!

She's a gracious gal she is; she sent me some arrow shafts fully insured & with tracking number to boot. They got here so fast I thought it was already next week.

Earlier this year I had trouble finding the correct nocks for my wife's arrows.  Killy sent a bunch out my way.  And although I don't believe in that "good medicine" stuff I do enjoy looking at my archery/bowhunting gear and remembering all the generous people who have helped me get a start.  Top notch.

As much as our beloved Killy is a fine sparking diamond in the rough.....another true gem,is our Brother Ken!!!!!

Kenny has an uncanny knack for fitting "things" to people.....

As John said,Killy sent a wonderful box of goodies for the hunt, and then Kenny picked through the box and picked out certain things that "fit" certain people.Knowing the "Old Indian" that I am Kenny came up to me and said "Killy sent a box of goodies for the hunt and I thought you might like these". Then he handed me a pewter Moose hatpin and a BEAUTIFUL choker that Killy made!!!!! The hatpin went right on my hunting hat,and I will wear the choker on every hunt.

(and probly most days in between too.)

Yes Sir!!!!! Two of the finest you'll ever find!!!!!    :notworthy:

Hate to mess you up, Chuck   :p   but I didn't make that choker. It has better mojo than that, as I won it in the St. Jude's auction. It was donated by another participant in the Barb threads, our own Bernie Dunn.

Bernie has done so much to promote archery, not just here onsite, but elsewhere on the web and around the world, that any doings of mine pale to insignificance in the light of his. In between drumming up excitement for upcoming shoots, devising ideas to spark joy in children attending shoots, purchasing and channeling gifts and prizes for shoots, maintaining a web page and hunting his skinny butt off, he makes bows, cane arrows, knives and I don't know what-all, and still manages to keep his wife happy and his dogs fed.

The choker just felt wrong on me, so I thought I would send it out to find "Mr. Right". I knew that Kenny would channel it correctly. He has a way. I am glad it found you, Chuckster.

Killy that Sash is the best deer call that I ever had next to Kenny's hat band. I plan to take it hunting saturday and let the "medicine" work.

Bear Heart - You gotta believe in the MOJO!

Chuck - You are a "Young At Heart Indian"

Killy has been my mentor of sorts into the world of traditional archery.
She has been generous with her time, advice and talent (recently she fletched me up some beautiful 2016's with Tradgang wraps).  Even though I've been a long time bowhunter, I am a pure newbie with traditional equipment.  I am certainly glad and blessed to have her in my corner.     :notworthy:
