I took this button buck on Sunday afternoon here in Vt. It is my second trad kill ever in this my first year trad. It was a great feeling after all the work and practice, and I thought it was a doe fawn but oh well it was still awesome and I am as happy if it was a big buck the breathing was hard and the shakes were as strong as ever. I made th 16 yd shot with my Zipper recurve it is 58 lbs. at my 31" draw a full length Beman ICS bowhunter shaft and a 2 blade 125gr magnus2 head on a 75gr adapter. The shot was a perfect heart shot the arrow entered 2" above the elbow and exited through the opposite elbow for a complete pass through. The deer did leave a easy to follow blood trail, but I was suprised with the fact it traveled 200yds. I would again like to thank Dave Knipes "Vermonster13" for helping me on my journey he is a true friend, my dad again for being with me that day and always taking me hunting when I was a kid and again my fiancee' Amy for understanding my love of bow hunting. Can you send some of that luck my way? Regular ground mail will suffice, as long as it is here before Nov. 22nd.
Congrats on a nice trophy!
The man is batting 1,000.!! Congrats!
T.W. your Mojo went out Priority today.
Congrats
I tell ya, if this ain't my year, it ain't 'cause I'm not trying. If I weren't afraid to get shot or molested, I'd dress up like a deer and see if that wouldn't get me close!! :bigsmyl:
Way to go!
Nicely done!!
You are off to a good start! I've trad hunted 12 years and have not got a deer yet.
Great Job... :knothead:
Shifting Shadow, are we hunting the same area?! I'm in your boat. I haven't shot a deer with trad or conventional weapon.
I think Vermonster13 has the cure to my dilemma on the way though. I'll keep ya posted.
Congrats, good job...what was your first deer?
Congrats
 :archer:
outstanding!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys thanks alot for the support. Speedbump that was my first deer in VT this year I have passed on a few legal 1yr old bucks. I did have a 140" 10pt at 18 yds the other night but he was quartering to me and did not give a open broadside shot so I elected to pass on the bad shot. Biggest buck Ive ever had a chance at in VT.
Congratulations!! I used to live in poultney, glad to see you are keeping the tradition alive up that way.
Nathan
Congrats.I'm still waiting on one down here. Not much around me because of logging nearby.
