Title: Storing broadheads. How are you doing it?
Post by: Leo L. on October 13, 2008, 01:14:00 PM
I've acquired more broadheads than I thought I would ever have.  Just wondering if you guys have any clever ways of neatly storing them?  Right now they're all just tossed in a little basket with my leather scraps.   If you have pictures too.....

I just go down to my local craft store and buy a chunk of foam.  Then I just insert the heads in the foam.  Keeps them protected and you can cut the foam to fit in a tackle box or any cabinet you want to put it in.

I would just add to put some chapstick on the edge,or bare spots, so they will not rust during long term storage.

I don't have TOO many, more like not enough.  But, I just took some scrap pieces of pine board, cut it 12" x 1", drilled holes spaced apart for the threads to slip into, and screwed them to the wall.  Each holds about 7-8 heads, and they are on the wall, out of the way.

Good stuff guys, thanks a lot.  I like the foam idea, I may go and get some today.

I put them in a safe place. That guarantees that I will not find them until I buy new ones to replace them.

I use one of those multi-drawer nut and bolt organizers. Different drawer for each broadhead style or weight. I also use it to store field points, nocks, inserts, feathers, glue sticks, you name it.

I have a large archery "box" with hinged lid.... Most of my small stuff goes into it. All my Zwickey's I put back into the factory package and store this way... works fine.
