Title: Trans Pecos 11 point (Video)
Post by: BUFF on October 13, 2008, 10:17:00 AM: I hunted in far west Texas this weekend with Flat Rock outfitters. I passed on a nice young 10 point the first afternoon. I had a great 11 point come in the second evening, only to be scared off by my cell phone. I couldn't turn it of because my wife was hunting a differant stand. He came back in just at dark and I was able to take him with my 74# recurve and big GK head. I was also able to whack a Turkey.

yes the Trans Pecos is far west Texas

Good shooting and nice buck.
I am curious. I believe that you use Silver Flame broad heads exclusively and I've watched many of your videos for here in the US and abroad. What are you hitting inside the animals that curtail penetration so much? Obviously, it is enough to kill them very well but rarely do I see a point out the offside or a pass through? Any thoughts you can share?

As a rule I try to hit the off side shoulder. When I miss it I get a pass thru. When I hit it normally not. On this buck I cut a rib going in. then cut 3 going out and broke his back leg. I'm not sure how it ended up back there but that is what stopped the arrow
