Title: applying sealskin
Post by: Paul WA on October 11, 2008, 12:00:00 PM
Those of you that use a seal skin rest, do you put it on so the fur lays down toward the back of the bow or so that the fur is laying toward the ground??...PR

Not sure I understand the question. Hair side up so the arrow can rest on it. Hair should be oriented so that it lays toward the back of the bow (direction of arrow flight).

For the shelf hair should lay towards the back of the bow.

Never have used it for a side plate though. I have always just used the black calf hair plates. But after looking at some pic's all them have the hair facing the back of the bow as well.

I put it so it all points the same way as the arrow.

another question: do you trim it or leave the fur long?

"I" leave it long, lasts a long time. Put it on using Barge cement....Lloyd
