Title: My latest bow with some new lines
Post by: Bodork on October 11, 2008, 11:24:00 AM
I recently finished this bow and added some new lines to the riser. Usually I sand the riser with pretty smooth transitions. On this one I sculpted some defining lines on the riser and added some wood on the bottom of it. (inspiration from v-archer and shapeshifter)
I think it came out very nice. What do you think?

The riser is kingwood and ebony with a gray actionwood stripe that is sandwiched between .030 curley maple. Has juat a touch of bighorn sheep on the points. The limbs are gray actionwood cores with maple parallels under black glass.
Thanks for looking! Mike

Beautiful work sir.

I've long been a fan of black glass.
The horn is a nice touch too.

Looks great, but my first thought is "how does it feel".

Looks like it'd be very form fitting to your hand.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The bow is 64" and around 65# @28" (my scale said 63 but Steve's said 68) I'm inclined to go with 68# because  it was everything I could do to get it to full draw. Thought I was just getting weak in my old age. Mike
