Got my new Black Creek Banshee.
I posted earlier that it would be goncalo alves on the riser but changed to macasser ebony and phenolic with tiger wood limb veneers. It looks great but in the pictures I have taken so far it is hard to see much detail (which is exactly what I wanted). Both woods are dark and the phenolic is black with two thin red stripes between the phenolic and macasser. This bow should disappear in the woods.
Not yet completely settled on arrows yet but it looks like I will use something about 525 grains which this bow casts at about 131 fps. Not bad for a 36lb bow and a shooter with a 25 3/4 in. draw length.
I am really looking forward to Oct. 15.
Mr. Gainey does make a nice bow. The 1st new bow I ever purchased was a Black Creek Banshee from Sipsey River.
I wished that that was one still in the collection. I will have another.
Personally I'm looking at ordering one in the 55# range with Osage ( my favorite wood and color ) accented with the darkest Diamodwood available.

Use some woodies with black and and natural cock feather. Do a few rotations on the cresting jig, and you're good to go. 2+2
Trickshot-----consider the Vapor 2000s. Might be a fair shaft for that bow. I can let you try some if you come by!
every bow i see that jim builds is gorgeous ,i really like the new grip..like i said before the man has talent and is a pleasure to talk to ,i agree with john at sipsey .its hard to beat the vapor 2000's , and with 36lbs it should fly great. i got one on order ,i have had 2 of them one 48lbs and one 50lbs ,the one im haveing built will be around 43-45lbs,cocobola riser and limbs and 2/3 up the limb it will be osage and osage wave in handle ..cant wait ,vapors is what i will be shooting,POST SOME PICS!! i wanna see. :cool:

Jim does incredible work! I live real close to him and get to see a lot of his bows. He continues to impress me every time I visit his shop! I still can't believe how low he sells these bows for. :clapper:
Finally settled in on an arrow setup. Using Gold Tip Entrada ultralight 600, with a 100 grain broad head adapter and the 125 grain woodsman. Comes to 424 grains and flies great at 142 fps. Needless to say I'm happy with what should be the perfect hunting setup for me. Now all I have to do is get me within 20 yards of a deer!
